Too Busy to Train? This One Saves You Time on the Next Job

Builders are busy. We get it. If you are building in Vermont right now, you already have more work than hours — and the last thing you want is a class you think slows you down.

This isn’t that kind of training.

Build It Right the First Time

If you’ve ever said, “I don’t have time for training,” this is probably the one that’s worth it.

HPB 101: The Basics of High Performance Building is designed for working builders who want fewer callbacks, fewer moisture surprises, and fewer “why is this failing?” moments — on real jobs, in real Vermont conditions. It’s designed for working builders to learn the concepts of how water, air, and thermal energy moves through home; the criticality of construction documents; and appropriate mechanical systems.

This is a two-part, hands-on course that focuses on the stuff that actually costs you time and money when it goes wrong:

  • Air leaks you didn’t see coming
  • Moisture problems that show up after you leave the site
  • Assemblies that look fine on paper but fail in the field
  • Systems that fight each other instead of working together

What you’ll walk away with

  • A clear way to think like air and water — so you can predict problems before they happen
  • Practical strategies for airtightness, flashing, WRBs, and moisture control
  • A whole-building mindset that connects enclosure, HVAC, ventilation, comfort, and durability
  • Tools you can use immediately — not “someday when you have time”

This course is how builders learn high performance concepts and strategies to build the right way given our climate and avoid expensive mistakes.
