Crew Leadership Development

Mentoring Skills to Develop and Retain Your Workforce

Course Description

This course is about learning the approach and skills of leading as separate from managing the operational side of a project. Both are important skills in bringing about successful completion of a project. However, fundamentally leadership skills are about strong communication skills and the capability to create and reinforce a culture of respect and performance. Daily you are confronted with issues of: “How do I hold good people accountable for their performance or take action when there are signs the project is off course?” “How do I reinforce the working culture of our team”, “How do I reinforce a culture of respect given the presence of a diverse workforce?” “How do I develop a system of skill development within my team that advances personal mastery of the trade?” Building trust in your team is key for retention and recruitment, and mastering core communication skills and holding the mission of your organization are the expectations of good leadership.
