Certification Progress: The Office of Professional Regulation is still in the process of gathering the information they need to help advance the certification requirements for Energy Code, Building Science, and ICC Code. The Vermont Homebuilding Coalition continues to work together to collaborate with the OPR to define essential training and potential certification requirements for adhering to the state’s energy code. SEON’s courses on Basics of High-Performance Building and Water, Air, and Thermal Continuous Control Layers are under consideration for certification.
Save the Date: On October 23rd, from 5-6:30 pm, SEON will host a “Roundtable” of retiring General Contractors titled “Passing the Torch: Southern VT Builders Discuss Challenges Facing the Next Generation.“ This event will be held in the conference room of WW Building Supply in Newfane (551 VT Route 30, Newfane, VT 05345).
Future Programs: While still in the early stages, we are exploring the development of an apprenticeship program for High-Performance Builders.
Social Media: Stay tuned to our social media channels for more updates and promotions of our courses. Join us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter / X, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
New Resource: We are working towards creating a reference workbook as follow-up material for our courses to support our attendees further.
Onward and upward until next month!
