From SEON’s Executive Director
Happy March, SEON Members!
I’m writing to share some exciting updates on SEON’s ongoing initiatives.
For the past several weeks, SEON members Anthony Girard, Duane Case, Junio Anthes-Moody and Jeff Schake, with support from Gero Dolfus and Ryan Druke, have been diligently working to design New Registered Apprenticeship Standards for Carpenters and High Performance Builders. Our efforts have focused on developing comprehensive Related Instruction and Work Processes. They will be presenting the results of their work at the SEON March Building Science Guild on March 26th, from 4:30 – 6:00 PM via Zoom. Your input is essential as we finalize our proposal for the Department of Labor. Our target is to begin our first cohort group in January 2026. We encourage all interested members to attend and contribute to this important initiative. If you cannot attend, please send me an email with any ideas or input.
On the training front, we’re pleased to announce that training dates have been finalized for Windham County and the White River Junction region. We are also in the process of planning the delivery of our Basics of High Performance Building and Leadership Development programs in Manchester and Winooski. Stay tuned for further announcements on these upcoming opportunities.
Finally, for those organizations looking to develop or update their employee handbook, SEON is here to help. We can assist you in creating a handbook that effectively describes your organization’s culture, guiding principles, and employee benefits package. I’m available to guide you through our established process, which includes a series of helpful questions designed to accurately capture the profile of your company, and Mark Tolson, our marketing director, is available to help put together a branded design. Please reach out to me directly to discuss your needs.
We appreciate your continued involvement and support of SEON’s mission.
Onward and upward,
Guy Payne

The frame for our high performance ADU design went up this week! Air-tight 2×8 construction with 2×12 rafters on a 12×20 footprint.

We’re proud to share that a recent Unity Homes Nano has been awarded Green Builder Media’s Green Home of the Year: Small Footprint. With a dream of owning a small home in Vermont, and upcoming plans to retire, homeowners Angie and Matt found the Unity Nano to be just the right choice for them.

Are you looking to tackle a home project this spring? WW Building Supply in Wilmington and Newfane have you covered? We offer in home consultations to help you with any project big or small!! Call us today: (802) 327-8521

Sales is a process many people find stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. What if sales were seen as a service to a potential customer, where the end of the sales process (the first three conversations) resulted in the customer having a clear next step, whether that step involves working with you or not?

Damp basements, rim boards, and tricky wall cavities need insulation that forms a perfect seal—that’s where spray foam shines. This powerful, spray-on solution expands to fill gaps, blocking out moisture and improving energy efficiency.

As we wrap up Women in Construction Week, we want to take a moment to once again highlight the incredible women on our team—including our powerhouse architectural consultants. Their expertise, dedication, and passion continue to shape the industry and inspire the next generation. Thank you for all that you do!
