From SEON’s Executive Director
Dear SEON Community,
I’m writing to share some exciting updates on SEON’s ongoing initiatives.
For the past several weeks, SEON members Anthony Girard, Duane Case, Junio Anthes-Moody and Jeff Schake, with support from Gero Dolfus and Ryan Druke, have been diligently working to design New Registered Apprenticeship Standards for Carpenters and High Performance Builders. Our efforts have focused on developing comprehensive Related Instruction and Work Processes. They will be presenting the results of their work at the SEON March Building Science Guild on March 26th, from 4:30 – 6:00 PM via Zoom. Your input is essential as we finalize our proposal for the Department of Labor. Our target is to begin our first cohort group in January 2026. We encourage all interested members to attend and contribute to this important initiative. If you cannot attend, please send me an email with any ideas or input.
On the training front, we’re pleased to announce that training dates have been finalized for Windham County and the White River Junction region. We are also in the process of planning the delivery of our Basics of High Performance Building and Leadership Development programs in Manchester and Winooski. Stay tuned for further announcements on these upcoming opportunities.
Finally, for those organizations looking to develop or update their employee handbook, SEON is here to help. We can assist you in creating a handbook that effectively describes your organization’s culture, guiding principles, and employee benefits package. I’m available to guide you through our established process, which includes a series of helpful questions designed to accurately capture the profile of your company, and Mark Tolson, our marketing director, is available to help put together a branded design. Please reach out to me directly to discuss your needs.
We appreciate your continued involvement and support of SEON’s mission.
Onward and upward,
Guy Payne
Executive Director

Shiplap pine siding is the final layer of the envelope on this high-performance home.

Back again to our high-performance design in Plymouth, NH! This time to install some white oak timber framed porch ledgers.

Whether you’re just beginning to consider building or are ready to break ground, our highly knowledgeable advisors are here to help answer your questions and guide you through the process.

At HELM, we’ve been reflecting on how we meet this unprecedented moment. As a planet and people-forward firm, we remain dedicated to serving our clients and community in alignment with our values, while finding ways to build bridges with those with whom we have differences.

Eco-Friendly Comfort with Cellulose Insulation
Looking to upgrade your home’s insulation? Cellulose insulation offers a sustainable solution with great thermal performance. Perfect for retrofitting older homes or creating quieter, more comfortable spaces.

Invest in future generations!

Next time it snows, step outside and look at your roof compared to your neighbors. If you can see the roof while your neighbors are still covered in snow, that can indicate you need more insulation in your roof and that you’re paying to melt the snow on your roof.

The countdown is on! We are gearing up for the International Builders Show on February 25th, and we’re excited to unveil our latest booth! Plus some really great new window & door innovations!
